Caricature of a Silver Fern

Paul Martin - Wednesday, December 21, 2011

The annual Cornerstone Trust luncheon was held in Te Awamutu last month. This is a great event that supports local up and coming sports stars with scholarships.

I was asked to create a caricature of guest speaker Silver Fern Laura Langman. With James McConie(From the Crow Goes Wild) as MC, we were guaranteed to have a fantastic time.

The illustration raised $500 for the trust when auctioned. Thanks to Cornerstone Trust for the opportunity. I hope 2012 brings more similar things my way.

Caricatures for All Black and French rugby heroes

Paul Martin - Monday, October 17, 2011

My Rugby club Hamilton Marist hosted the Shamrock rugby dinner last Wednesday 12th October. Guest speakers were Sir Colin Meads and French international Serge Betsen.

It was my privilege to draw a pencil caricature of these 2 rugby legends, Sir Colin and Serge signed these one off illustrations, they were then auctioned off for charity at the dinner. It was a great night and it was a pleasure to talk to Sir Colin and Serge. We talked about French Rugby and I reminisced about the rugby clubs I played for in France- Ceret Sportif, St Claude and Orleans. It was a great night and thanks to Mark M'Connell from Kukri who purchased the signed Serge Betsen Illustration, Kevin O'Brien purchased the signed Sir Colin Meads illustration.

It was a lot of fun creating this website for Wanda, I have
created a website that shows you who Wanda is and
to showcase her artwork.

Wanda's 'Puriri Studio' in Raglan is where she creates magic.

Dean Brindle and his team contacted me to illustrate a Brindle Speedway Car T-shirt design.

The illustration has been created in a vector art format, producing clean crisp artwork and more flexibility in reproducing different mediums.

Dean Brindle is the current New Zealand, Waikato & Wellington Speedway Champion. Here is the design with dirt and flames flying! We wish Dean success in his upcoming competitions for 2009.

Marist Eagle Logo

Marist Eagle Logo

This logo cartoon was donated to the Hamilton Marist Junior Boys club 2008. It was a father and son project.

I thought it would be a great idea to donate some creative time to the Hamilton Marist Junior Boys Rugby. I thought of creating a character that the club could use for marketing and for player of the day apparel.

My Dad Graeme and I went about developing this little eagle. Graeme came up with the rough sketches and I inked the final version. Now every Hamilton Marist Junior Boys Rugby player of the day gets a t-shirt or cap with little fella on it!
